Me acuerdo de ti is a wordless letter, a visual correspondence that transcends distance and turns the image into an invisible bond. During a period when my sister and I were living in different countries, she would send me pictures of the flowers she bought each week as a silent way of saying, “I’m thinking of you.” A reminder that, despite the distance, we were still sharing small moments of beauty. Those photos became a language of their own—a way of being present in absence, a correspondence needing no words beyond the simple act of looking.
The repetition of that intimate gesture—the weekly sending of flowers, like writing a postcard—transforms the everyday into ritual, a silent testament of affection. The contemplation of the flowers is not merely aesthetic, but a profound connection with the moment.
In this work, the muted pastel colours of the four-colour process do not seek to replicate the original image faithfully, but rather to evoke the sensory impression of a memory. Like the echo of a cherished conversation, the print revives a fleeting gesture, transforming it into presence. The screen printing, with its meticulous layering, allows the image to be broken down into fragments of light and colour, reconstructed through manual printing.
Each print is unique, with slight variations that reinforce the idea of the ephemeral and the unrepeatable, much like the flowers that inspired the work. In this process, the mechanical and the human coexist, creating an image that not only represents but also conveys.
